7th edition presented by Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation set for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015; register today to run America’s Riviera and experience The World’s Most Beautiful Finish Line
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – (September 3, 2015) – The Santa Barbara Veterans Day Marathon & Half (SBM) presented by Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation has become a Member of both local Chambers of Commerce: Santa Barbara Region and Goleta Valley, and the community event will also partner with both Chambers for its 7th edition slated for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. With 4,000-plus participants, the largest running event on the Central Coast honors Veterans and features courses that begin in the orchards of Goleta and winds past and through the beautiful UC-Santa Barbara campus before heading toward “The World’s Most Beautiful Finish Line” on Santa Barbara’s famed waterfront.
“It has been great to work with both of our local Chambers of Commerce and look forward to continued partnership to not only enlarge the footprint of the Santa Barbara Marathon & Half in the community and beyond, but also to showcase all that the beautiful Central Coast has to offer,” said Rusty Snow, race director.
Organized in an “off-peak” season for the Santa Barbara County region, the event provides an opportunity not only for runners to participate in ideal fall conditions, but for the American Riviera business community to showcase its hotels, restaurants and activities. Along with the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation’s events, the weekend marks one of the largest in the United States honoring our nation’s Veterans. With over two months left to go, the 2015 edition already has participants traveling to Santa Barbara from 40 states and 11 countries.
“The Marathon, Half Marathon & Marathon Relay present a great opportunity for businesses to promote health & wellness in the workplace and come together as teams,” said Stephanie Armstrong The Chamber of Commerce of the Santa Barbara Region, Vice President of Marketing. “As a Marathon Partner, we look forward to celebrating all of the finishers this November at our beautiful Leadbetter Beach.”
“This annual community event brings together thousands of people on an incredible, inspiring journey from the start in Goleta to the finish line in Santa Barbara,” stated Kristen Miller, Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce, President & CEO. “Also, the new Half Marathon start at UCSB that heads down Route 217 past Goleta Beach will be particularly special and will provide breathtaking views for the runners.”
